I was able to play a bit on my HTPC with the cough keyboard. (The game is still traditionally copy protected, too …) I assume this is some glitch in the controller detection related to the hard-coded copy protection dongle status they’ve accorded to the Xplorer. Even though it was showing up fine in Control Panel, Game Controllers, and tested fully functional. What’s even lamer is that on my home theater PC running Vista HP, the game would not recognize the Xplorer at ALL. And because the Xplorer, let’s face it, kinda sucks ass. This is incredibly lame, because I wanted to use my PS2 Kramer guitars on a USB converter. So let’s start with the bad news: the game is hard-coded to look for the bundled USB Xplorer and cannot be configured for any other directinput device. I asked at the customer service desk and they pulled one from the back- I guess they hadn’t stocked it quite yet.
The BB website showed “in stock”, but I couldn’t find it in the PC gaming aisles. I picked up a copy of GH3 for the PC today at Best Buy.
